In order to find the procedures needed to overcome the conflict of preserving stiffness, strength and long-term stability while still remaining light-weight and capable of providing costs superior to standard materials, we had to loosen our traditional approaches. The result is our E-LFT procedure with which, after ten years of R & D, Weber Fibertech accomplished series-production readiness.

This procedure is based on a structure made of long-fiber thermoplastic resin. The design and construction of this base-structure allows for extensive freedom within the engineering plan.

In this Matrix, continuous filaments are embedded in order to aid in structural reinforcement. This reinforcement allows the component-strength to be of crash safety reliability. Beyond the freedom of shape-forming, the developer has the possibility of directly integrating the functional components and thus economizing the assembly- and test-steps.

The outcome; body components which have comparable cost and comparable or better safety yet, according to material utilization, weight up to half as much as today’s Components.

ESORO is Weber Fibertech’s long-standing engineering partner of the E-LFT Process. ESORO stands for innovation and order-development for industrial customers with an emphasis on light-weight construction, synthetic material engineering, transportation and vehicle construction.
